1: Best Practices

First, always read the manufacturer's instructions for your oven before cleaning. Some ovens have self-cleaning functions, and using chemical cleaners can damage the oven's surface. If you're not sure, look up the instructions online or contact the manufacturer.

Next, gather all the necessary tools and supplies. You'll need an oven cleaner (if not using chemical-free methods), rubber gloves, a scrub brush or sponge, a bucket of warm water, and a clean towel.

2: Tips

Start by removing the oven racks and soaking them in warm soapy water. This will help to loosen any grime and make them easier to clean later. While the racks are soaking, you can focus on the inside of the oven.

Spray the oven cleaner onto the inside of the oven, following the manufacturer's instructions. If you're using a chemical-free method, sprinkle baking soda over the bottom of the oven and spray with vinegar. Let it sit for 30 minutes to an hour, depending on the level of dirt and grime.

Use a scrub brush or sponge to scrub the inside of the oven, paying particular attention to areas with heavy grime buildup. For hard-to-reach areas, use a toothbrush or a cleaning tool with a long handle. Wipe away any excess cleaner or baking soda with a clean towel.

Next, clean the oven racks with a scrub brush or sponge and rinse them with warm water. Dry them off with a clean towel before placing them back in the oven.

3: Maintenance and Care

To keep your oven clean and prevent future buildup, there are a few things you can do. First, wipe up any spills or crumbs as soon as they occur. This will prevent them from hardening and becoming harder to clean later.
