Part 3 of 3: How to Make Your Own Bread | Creative Ways to Use Leftovers

Welcome back bread lovers, it's time for Part 3 of our bread-making journey! In Part 1 and Part 2, we learned how to make our own bread and some baking techniques and tips. Now, in Part 3, we will explore creative ways to use leftovers from our freshly baked loaves.

At Two Pillars, we believe in sustainability and reducing waste. That's why we've created eco-friendly kitchen products to help you store and reuse your leftovers. Let's dive into some creative ways to use our leftover bread!

1: Bread Crumbs

First up, we have the classic use for leftover bread - bread crumbs! Simply slice your bread into small pieces and pulse in a food processor until you have fine crumbs. You can use these crumbs to coat chicken or fish, add them to meatballs or meatloaf, or sprinkle them on top of mac and cheese for a crunchy topping.

2: Croutons

Next, we have croutons. Cut your leftover bread into bite-sized cubes and toss them with some olive oil, salt, and your favorite seasonings. Bake in the oven at 350°F for 10-15 minutes until crispy. Sprinkle these homemade croutons on top of soups or salads for added texture and flavor.

3: French Toast

Who doesn't love a good slice of French toast for breakfast? Whisk together eggs, milk, cinnamon, and vanilla in a shallow dish. Dip slices of leftover bread in the mixture and cook in a buttered skillet until golden brown. Serve with syrup and fresh fruit for a delicious and easy breakfast.

4: Bread Pudding

Finally, we have bread pudding. Tear your leftover bread into small pieces and place them in a baking dish. Whisk together eggs, milk, sugar, and vanilla and pour over the bread. Let the mixture sit for 30 minutes to soak in the liquid, then bake in the oven at 350°F for 30-40 minutes until set. Serve warm with a dollop of whipped cream for a comforting dessert.

Now that you have some ideas for using your leftover bread, let's talk about how to store it. Our ZipBag® is the perfect solution for storing your bread. These reusable silicone storage bags are perfect for keeping your bread fresh and preventing it from drying out. Plus, they're dishwasher safe and plastic-free, making them an eco-friendly choice.

If you need to reheat your bread, our Duo Cover® is the perfect tool. This silicone microwave splatter guard mat features MoistureLock™ technology to keep your leftovers moist and prevent them from drying out. It's easy to stow away with its microwave-safe magnets and is heat resistant with a grip for easy handling.

We hope you've enjoyed our three-part bread-making journey and have found some inspiration for using your leftover bread.
